Richard Harker

Mr, MA Cantab, MB BChir, FRCS (Tr & Orth)

Mr Richard Harker is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, United Kingdom, with a specialist interest in spinal surgery and the non-operative management of spinal disorders.

He graduated from the University of Cambridge and completed his postgraduate training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. Following a clinical fellowship in Australia focused on hip arthroplasty, he developed extensive expertise in spinal surgery, minimally invasive techniques, and vertebral augmentation procedures.

Mr Harker established a multidisciplinary spine service at North Hampshire Hospital, where he has introduced a range of advanced spinal procedures, including vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, microdiscectomy, minimally invasive spine surgery, and percutaneous fusion techniques. Alongside his clinical practice, he is actively involved in education and multidisciplinary spine care.

He is a member of several professional societies, including the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, the British Hip Society, and the Society for Back Pain Research
