IPA Faculty Lead Ultrasound Workshop at Czech-Slovak Dialogues on Pain 2026

Košice, Slovakia | 7 October 2026

The Interventional Pain Academy (IPA) proudly contributed to the Czech-Slovak Dialogues on Pain 2026 in Košice, where its instructors led a full-day educational workshop dedicated to ultrasound-guided techniques in interventional pain medicine.

The workshop combined expert-led theoretical sessions with intensive hands-on training, providing participating physicians with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop practical skills in ultrasound-guided pain interventions.

From Theory to Hands-On Practice

The theoretical programme covered fundamental principles of ultrasonography, anatomical orientation, procedural safety and clinical applications across five anatomical regions: head and neck, thorax and shoulder, abdomen and pelvis, upper extremity, and lower extremity. The programme also introduced modern technologies, including the 7StarScope system and its applications in pain management.

During the practical sessions, participants rotated through five dedicated ultrasound workstations, working in small groups under the supervision of experienced instructors. Training focused on sonoanatomy, ultrasound image optimisation, identification of relevant anatomical structures and demonstration of image-guided interventional techniques.

The workshop’s expert faculty included Dr. Juraj Mláka, Dr. Ladislav Kočan, Dr. Peter Lenčéš, Dr. Michal Matias, Dr. Michal Adam, Dr. Michal Venglarčík, Dr. Ľubomír Poliak, Dr. Mychajlo Zakharchenko, Dr. Vojtech Jarkuliš and Dr. Peter Vašek, who contributed their clinical expertise across the theoretical and practical sessions.

The interactive format encouraged direct discussion with faculty members, individual feedback and the exchange of valuable clinical experience.

Advancing Education in Pain Medicine

The workshop highlighted the importance of combining scientific knowledge with practical training to support safe, precise and effective interventional pain management.

The event also provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen professional collaboration and share expertise among physicians dedicated to advancing pain medicine.

We sincerely thank all instructors, participants, congress organisers and partners for contributing to the success of this educational event.

The Interventional Pain Academy remains committed to delivering high-quality medical education and supporting the continued development of image-guided interventional techniques.
